I can't believe it's been three weeks since I first posted about her coming down with the flu. Here's how it went down. She first had a fever on a Tuesday morning when she woke up. It only lasted until 9:30 Wednesday night, so about 36 hours. The highest it got was just under 102. She started taking Tamiflu within about four hours of when her first symptoms presented. She did have a mild to moderate dry cough for about 5 days or so, but after that she was back to her old fun-loving self very quickly.
She lost about 8 oz related to her flu (dehydration from the fever mostly) and from traveling and having her normal routine slightly disrupted. Kenny and I were both in a wedding (Congrats Ben & Stacy!) in St. Louis and had to leave town 2 days into her run with the flu. Sofie was lucky enough to get to spend some time with her Grandmas and Grandpas, and from what I hear had tons of fun once she was feeling better. She has since regained those 8 oz. she lost, plus a couple more. Yay Sofie!
All in all, a bout with H1N1 (or any type of flu) could have gone much worse for her, so we're relieved it turned out to be very mild, and also kind of glad she's already had it and has consequently developed some immunity to it.
On a related lung health note: We are SO happy that Sofie has qualified for RSV shots again this year!!!! We really expected her to be denied and were pleasantly surprised to find out that she will receive Synagis again. It worked really well for her last year, so we hope it will work just as well this year. She'll get her first RSV shots and her seasonal flu shot tomorrow. I always hate taking her in for shots. I think it's harder on me than her!
I've really gotten behind on blog updates! I have pictures to post from way back in September. We've just been busy with weddings, and traveling, and birthdays, and gearing up for the holidays. And we've been enjoying these last few weeks of great Fall weather. So one day when Winter weather is finally upon us, and we're stuck inside I promise to play catch-up here. But for now, back to the fun!

So glad to hear that Sofie is feeling better. Can't wait to see pics of Sofie
So glad she did so well with H1N1. It's pretty scary stuff I hear. Glad Sofie qualified for Synagis. Theo wasn't so lucky. He was denied because he's been too healthy the past 6 months. Even though he only has one lung he doesn't fit the criteria. Crazy! We have appealed it, so we'll see.
Hooray, Super Sofie! Now, if you could just teach Abby how to gain weight back quickly like that I'd appreciate it. ;-) Can't wait to see the new pics... I bet she's gotten so big! {Oh, and good luck with the shots. It's always harder on the parents!}
Sorry to hear Sofie was sick but wow thank goodness she is better! What a rockstar she is!
Just wanted to pop in and tell you that I just ordered the Super Baby Food book and freezer trays you recommened. Sofie hasn't steered us wrong yet! Can't wait to see the next "Sofie's Favorite Things" entry!
So glad to hear Super Sofie was at it again and kicked some H1N1 butt! Oh, and happy belated birthday to Kenny also.
