Look at how much she's grown! She's such a big girl now.

And let's not forget how far she's come with eating!!! We started Peetie Unplugged on December 4th last year, so last Thanksgiving Sofie was entirely tube fed and refusing all of her bottles. (Note the feeding pump behind her in last year's picture below.) She's now at a stage of feeding normalcy that I once thought we'd never ever see. She loves taking her bottles (bah bahs) and continues to eat Medium-Well at mealtimes.
At bedtime I make her bedtime bottle and she carries it upstairs while I carry her. She holds it while I change her diaper and put her jammies on. Then we sit in the rocking chair with her snuggle blankie, woobie, and bottle. I feed her her bottle. Then she gets her binkie and a bedtime story or two while we rock. She LOVES this routine and starts smiling and giggling from the time I hand her her bottle to carry upstairs.
Thanksgiving night she threw me a big curve when she took her bedtime bottle all by herself!! Instead of holding it while I changed her diaper and put her jammies on, she just decided to go ahead and drink it. She kept drinking all throughout the diaper change and while I put on her jammie bottoms. I called Kenny in to watch. She finished the bottle all by herself. We were completely in awe. Self-feeding has continued to be an issue for her, but she has fed herself her bedtime bottle several times since last week. This is a BIG deal!! I could have never imagined she'd be doing this at this time last year.

Sofie taking her Thanksgiving Bedtime Bah Bah. Can you tell we were totally afraid to move or speak? She must have thought we were being so weird!
Sofie had another big feeding first in the last couple of weeks - feeding herself with a spoon!! The other night she took her spoon while I was feeding her YoBaby and started feeding herself. Up until then, spoons were strictly for throwing or painting with for Sofie. Big steps!!

Last year was consumed with tube feedings and weight checks. This year we have much more time for fun. Fun things like...

Jen,
Thanks so much for sharing Sofie's progress. I'm so thankful for YOU and your wonderful ideas for getting Sofie to eat! She continues to be an amazing role model for children like Abby, and YOU continue to help us immensely by giving us ideas for routines and things to try. I'm so proud of Sofie and her nighttime ba-ba... the video made me smile because Casey and I TOTALLY would have been the silent parents afraid to talk or move while she was drinking! Once again, way to go SUPER SOFIE!

I loved Sofie's pics with the little pumpkins. So cute and such a big smile! Glad you had a great Thanksgiving.
Those little pig tails are the best! She has really overcome so much in one year. It always amazes me what these little ones can get through!
I'm glad you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
This brought tears to my eyes! I am so happy for you all and all her progress. Pictures are precious too...
Amen on what God has blessed you with. I smiled the whole time watching Sofia drinking, listening to the little slurpy sounds. Oh how I miss those sweet little sounds children make.
I love this post. Sofie just keeps getting cuter and cuter! Congrats on the feeding!!!!!! That is so awesome.
