Small Gain, But Better Than Nothing!

Sofia weighed 9 lbs, 10 oz. today at her appointment with Dr. Y. We would have liked a bigger gain, but at least she didn't lose any weight! We'll go back in 10 days for a weight check and he would like to see her gain at least 5 oz. by then. So we are increasing the volume of her feedings to try and pack on the pounds.

We also discussed how fussy she's been the last few days. Yesterday I resorted to giving her Tylenol to see if she was having pain and if it would make her feel better. (She didn't have a fever.) The Tylenol worked like a charm, so something is going on. Dr. Y. thinks she may be refluxing a little and that could be causing her pain. So he is starting her on Zantac twice a day. It doesn't have the side effects of Prilosec. It will take about 5 days to start helping, so hopefully that will do the trick and she'll feel better.

Today was Daddy's first day back to work since Sofia was born, so it was Mommy's first solo outing with Sofie. We missed you Daddy!! All in all, I'd say we did pretty good. We were only 8 minutes late instead of 35, so we're shaving that down nicely. I did actually work the stroller correctly on the first (okay the 2nd) try. We're slowly getting the hang of this. I'm sure it's great entertainment for Sofie!

Sorry for the short-ish update, but I've been working on a video that I plan to post in a little while, so check back soon!

Sounds like Sofia is doing really good. So how many times did Daddy call to check on his little girl. I'm sure it was hard for him to be away from her after spending the first 3 months with her. The video was really special. Colins family did a really wonderful thing by donating the surgarbears and I'm sure they will be getting alot more donations to keep the Sugarbears coming to these special babies. Take care hopefully I will get to see Sofia in July. Love Gail
