Sofie's having a better day today. She's eating better too, and is consistently taking all of her 5 oz. feedings. She had a quiet morning and then actually took about a 2 hour nap this afternoon. This is almost unheard of for her. She is always active and ready to be entertained. I swear this girl is never tired! I think these babies you hear about that sleep all the time must be mythical creatures. Anyway, she spent some time in her swing this morning for about 30 minutes and loved it. And this afternoon I've been doing some things around the house with her sitting in the sling. I was worried she'd be too crunched up in it to breath easily, but we've modified the way we use it to make it work for her and it's great. She gets to sit up and look around and watch what I'm doing, so she's a fan of that (for today anyway!)
Another great little thing we've started using is the Medibottle. This little gem was passed on to me by Jack's mom, Vicki, and it's works great for giving meds. Thanks, Vicki! We can give everything through it. We had to work a little to find a way to get the Actigall to go through without clogging, because it's so thick, but I think we finally found a winner today. It's so much easier than giving her meds through the syringe into her mouth. And the syringe method was making her choke a lot too, which always worries me with her aspiration risk after the swallow study.
I contacted First Steps today to set up an evaluation for Sofia, so I'm looking forward to getting started with that. Sofie's also been checking out her feet these last few days. Well, actually she seems a little more fond of the left foot. The right one isn't nearly as interesting to her for some reason. But I remember reading somewhere that discovering your feet is a developmental milestone, so that's really encouraging.
We have a follow up appt tomorrow at the Surgery Clinic, so I'll post new info after that.

Sofia,
Slings rule. I LOVE mine. It is the coziest! I too like my feet but my mom keeps putting Robeez on them [whatever that means]. I miss my toes.
Sounds like all is well at your house. Good to hear.
Any way, give a high five to your mom and dad for me. Gotta go drool on something now.

Ah the fierce independance of these children! And just where does it come from? I am glad you had a better day!
The car never worked for me - my mother said only my father would! That Medibottle is amazing!
I got your card - and Thank You for sharing Miss Sofie! And her left foot will get old and the right will have more appeal next week!
With thoughts, prayers, weight gain and lung function chants,
Elizabeth
